Revenue Cycle Reporting Analyst


The Revenue Cycle Reporting Analyst is responsible for the development of reports and data sets, analyzing revenue, supporting the Revenue Cycle operations in Data Extraction; Data Analysis; System or Software Administration; and Reporting
and Tracking. This includes the monitoring of Revenue Cycle systems, identify root causes and recommend/design improvements.

Revenue Cycle I Assignments


  • Develop a reporting request policy and procedure including approval process form.
  • Follows the reporting approval process before beginning a report.
  • Seeks understanding of a requested report to ensure it will have the necessary data elements.
  • Test developed report and confirm with end user its accuracy.
  • Schedule the report at needed intervals meeting end users needs

  • Uses reports, systems, and build tools to determine department/building efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Is sure to understand data elements before drawing conclusions.
  • Seeks to understand best practice.
  • Confirms findings with leadership and end user to confirm accuracy.
  • Present findings in a manner that is both visually appealing as well as logical and easy to understand.
  • Reviews, analyzes and maintains a centralized understanding of all contracts to be able to assist staff with contracting questions/concerns.

    • Bachelor s Degree in information technology, business, finance or related field. An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.
    • At leat one year of Patient Accounting Experience.
    • One year related revenue cycle experience or one year consulting in financial reporting for data analytics
    • Proven skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word, Window based applications, and 10 key calculator with high level of quality outcomes.


    • Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9
    • One to two years experience in hospital financial service, patient service or education and training.

    Don't Be Fooled

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
