In this position, you will work alongside our attorneys and perform a variety of administrative tasks.
Your job duties will include providing relevant support to the attorneys, preparing documents, drafting correspondence, organizing and maintaining the schedules and filing system, and assisting with clients' needs and case work.
On a daily basis, you will also be responsible for general administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, taking messages, scheduling court dates and meetings, responding to emails, scanning in and sorting mail, and other general administrative office work.
You will be primarily assisting the attorneys assigned to our guardianship and conservatorship cases.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be proficient with Microsoft Office, be able to multitask effectively, and become proficient with the firm's case management software.
An ideal candidate has prior law firm experience and is comfortable working in a fast-paced workplace.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Complete administrative duties such as making copies, scanning and cataloging documents, answering and directing phone calls, and greeting clients Coordinate appointments, maintain schedules, and conduct client intake Correspond with attorneys, courts, clients, and third parties Draft correspondence and various legal documents such as cover letters, proofs of service, exhibits, memos, affidavits, discovery requests, and mail Assist attorneys in their daily operations including conducting interviews, conducting intakes, responding to case-related queries, monitoring emails, acting as a gatekeeper, anticipating attorney's needs, and traveling to and from various places such as hospitals, residences, financial institutions, court, etc.
when necessary Maintain and organize files; establish and update case files with information Daily record keeping and time tracking with firm's electronic systems Gather evidence, documents, and relevant information for files Assist with the administration and management of workflow Keep courts updated with changes to client's information Provide case management support to link clients to services and provide appropriate placements Maintain contact with client's family members, as appropriate Assist with management of client's social security and other benefits, create annual budgets, complete payments on client's bills and ensure bills are paid on-time and in accordance with governmental guidelines Complete annual reports with various agencies, complete all agency and contractual paperwork on a timely basis, follow best practice guidelines for personal contact with clients and visitations, and other duties assigned Qualifications and Requirements:
High school degree; legal assistant/paralegal certification or better preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn and use specific computer applications Highly organized and detail-oriented Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills Ability to take direction, multitask, and work with team members or independently with little or no supervision Ability to complete multiple tasks correctly, efficiently, and on-time, without being prompted Ability to learn, understand, and interpret legal documents Experience with probate law and fiduciary work is a plus Job Types:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
